Description
Overview
KALTON Refrigerant Gas R-22 (HCFC-22 / CHClF₂) is a high-purity refrigerant widely used for servicing older residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems. Known for its stable cooling performance and reliability, R-22 has long been used in medium- and low-temperature refrigeration applications including split ACs, cold rooms, chillers, and packaged units.
Although highly effective, R-22 is regulated globally due to its ozone depletion potential. It is only permitted for maintenance of existing systems and cannot be used in new installations. KALTON R-22 meets international quality standards and is packaged in high-strength steel cylinders.

FAQs
1. Is Kalton R-22 still available?
Yes, but only for servicing existing systems where regulations allow.
2. Can R-22 be used in new AC units?
No. New systems must use alternative refrigerants such as R-410A or R-32.
3. What oil is compatible with R-22?
Mineral oil (MO) or alkylbenzene (AB), depending on the compressor type.
4. Is R-22 flammable?
No. It is classified A1—non-flammable and safe under normal use.
5. Do I need to follow special handling rules?
Yes. Recovery, recycling, and environmental compliance are mandatory.
